Youtube doesn't bombard you with popup windows and I see video uploaders are being paid by the site as well, which is obviously why there are so many ad pages (and also why you are so keen to get everyone to look at the videos)

This! There may be genuine content there somewhere but you would lose the will to live before you get to it among all the pop up crap. If you are that hard up for money best try and make it elsewherepvc_pete wrote:Youtube doesn't bombard you with popup windows and I see video uploaders are being paid by the site as well, which is obviously why there are so many ad pages (and also why you are so keen to get everyone to look at the videos)

never made anything upoading (wish I did). they pay out something like $5 for 10,000 views. if u have admuncher the ads go away.merv wrote:This! the advantage of thevideo.me over youtube is they are not run by copytight nuts. youtube takes down your entire channel if someone from Hollywwood complains. a one min clip from the daily show got someone I know taken down. but thevideo.me allows anything-current tv, movies, all without copyright strikes. I am just so fed up with looking on youtube and seeing content blocked in your country by NBC or BBC.
and supposedly youtube pays its uploaders also. ads are terrible lately. even going to a news site if admuncher is off. but we have to adapt

it all comes back to whether people have any respect for copyright or not then doesn't it. A subject much argued over already so sems little point going over that againslicker-lover wrote:never made anything upoading (wish I did). they pay out something like $5 for 10,000 views. if u have admuncher the ads go away.merv wrote:This! Re: Clip from 2015 German TV movie
I can understand copyright claims for first run movies, current TV episodes etc. but a movie from the 30s or 40s, no way-they were supposed to be 50 years and they just keep extending and extending.
but what is so unfair is the youtube policy of taking down the entire channel if there is a copyright claim. take down the offending video, sure-but not the whole channel. that's not fair.
and 1-3 minute clips from anything should be allowed, it probably helps to sell the original. and to take down a movie 50 years old because there is 30 seconds of a song. that is nonsense.
