Maybe a little tangential but I liked the bit where father, in order to drive home his point, picks up the pair of child's plastic pants from the washing basket and stretches and then releases the waistband-I guess to make it clear exactly what sort of garment they are. Adults often used to do this and it can still arouse a frisson when done by the right person (in my case grown-up female but each to their own) in adult roleplay.
