'Polizeistation' S01-E01 'Heikos-Bruder' (German TV series - 1973). Susanne Beck wears a very nice shiny blue PVC mac.

It agree that in very many respects our enthusiasms coincide (except maybe for a couple of hours in the afternoon of 25 October).

Yeah, that was what I thought. However, my team (Celtic) do not have a game on 25 October. My second team (Rotherham United) play on that date (away) at Barnsley! Coming from "the beautiful south" I can't see you being a Baaaahnsley fan and I hope to God you don't support THEMS!

Oh Yes. Another "thing" from childlhood. The sight of the Ponty Road end from the top deck of a Tracky No 11 travelling to and from my grandparents' got mes hooked. Glavin, Banks and McCarthy weren't a bad trio.

Barnsley eh? :) I was born 8 miles south of Barnsley (in Chapeltown - 6 miles north of Sheffield and 5 miles NW of Rotherham). I've always liked Barnsley as a town and the people there are diamonds. Ronnie Glavin and Mick McCarthy - great players and both played for Celtic.

That's a relief! My grandparents lived in South Kirkby (now across the border) and we went to Barnsley Market on a Saturday. Don't know about SBR in those days but there were certainly plenty of " proper" plastic macs worn by females of all ages.

Barnsley Market and Barnsley Bus Station were great places for seeing lovely SLIM ladies in plastic macs (often tightly belted!) back then. :)
