Never soaked to the skin! Maybe one layer, possibly partly through the second, but the whole point of layering up is to be soaked through on the outside, but bone-dry inside!

I love wearing really good waterproofs, but then finding such godawful conditions that even they can't keep you completely dry. i'm really impressed by your videos under the waterfalls

Most of my top layer raincoats are riding-style, like my Target Dry, or my Champion Sandringham, so I appreciate your thoughts about riding in foul weather! The waterfalls are really the ultimate test, and I've spent a lot of time and testing creating what I think is the best most resistant rainwear combination, but also an outfit that doesn't look out of place walking around town in torrential conditions. I love spending an hour or two around town or in the park in really heavy rain, hoping to spot some similarly dressed individuals who I can surreptitiously follow to see how effective their rainwear is, and how much they are enjoying being out getting soaked. I've seen one or two who have clearly been enjoying testing their rainwear to the extent where they, like myself, will find an overflowing gutter or similar to "accidentally" soak themselves, but I've never got the courage to approach them. I sometimes hope that when I am standing under an overflow, headscarf and raincoat saturated and shiny, clearly deliberately getting soaked, someone will approach me - a few stop and look, but no-one has yet said anything. Maybe one day!

Perhaps people watching you, standing or walking under overflowing gutters, may draw the conclusion you are totally nuts! Most would walk round or avoid! However, we all have our little ways! I am certainly no exception! Enjoy todays showers.

My experience is a little different, as hacking out for long periods, there's a limit to how much I can layer and still be able to ride an active horse. My options are either a long riding coat (long enough to cover the tops of my riding boots) or a shorter jacket and waterproof chaps. I love being out in heavy rain for a long time, but standing under overflows or waterfalls obviously isbn't an option on horseback

Heavy rain in London today. There are quite a few colourful nylon raincoats out and about and the odd clear plastic umbrella. I've yet to see any shiny PVC / vinyl / plastic rainwear but I'm hoping there is still time!
Has anyone worn their shiny rainwear out or seen others wearing it today?

So finally some rain down in the south, this afternoon it was forecast from 2-5 o'clock and so I went out to hopefully see some rain and get a bit wet and it didn't disappoint there was rain all that time and some of it was really heavy and never the less I did get nice and wet, can't wait for the next rain whenever that may be.

What a weekend, been working all weekend in full waterproofs, ranging from peter storm over the head and zip up cags to cag in a bag, millets packables and more technical bramds like marmot and rab. It’s been wonderful, one more day tomorrow before day off
