'Frauenschicksale' (East German film from 1952). Anneliese Book wears a long greenish-grey semi-transparent plastic cape. This one is for Beth who mentioned the film recently on the 'Rainwear Discussions' page. It wasn't an easy one to find a link for but I did eventually track one down yesterday evening. :)
Timing: 47'-50" to 50'-14".

I feel like I've died and gone to heaven RB, was going to get the dvd from an American ebayer, probably still will but won't have to wait now, so strange why it's not widely available like all the other films we done and only one site so far that seems to have it. On pin interest there's a photo of another woman in a plastic mac in this one.

Here are 4 images of Anneliese wearing the mac in the film:

I said the mac was "greenish-grey" when I posted the link - I think we can now say it is green! :)

Lovely find and I am glad to see another of those long capes of the era. The 'car' he is driving is interesting, sounds more like a lawnmower.

Cheers Beth - thought you might like that one! ;) I've also put up 4 images - there may be one or two you haven't seen as yet? :) PS - Couldn't find the image you mentioned on Pinterest though. Do you have a link for it?

Aye - the car! It sounds like it is 'propelled' by rubber bands. It's got to be some sort of Trabant (Trabby) although my knowledge of cars leaves a lot to be desired.

The most famous East German GDR produced car, the Trabant (called "Trabi"), has been in production from 1958 to 1991, the last one were made even after the German reunification (Oct 3rd 1990). So the car in the film shouldn't be a Trabant. Wanted to check it but the server was so damn slow.

That movie in better quality would be nice to watch.
timeless fashion is the best fashion - classic "rubberized" raincoats are timeless

That's great - cheers Beth. :) In the film itself I don't remember seeing them together like that though - perhaps it's a promotional image....
