Favourite ever piece of rainwear
Re: Favourite ever piece of rainwear
It has to be the pale blue translucent plastic mac that my sister had nearly 70 years ago. When she wasn't wearing it it used to hang on the coat rack under the stairs. I loved to feel the soft plastic whenever I passed the mac. It came in a matching plastic pouch with a matching concertina rain hat and a belt which my sister never used. The pouch containing the rain hat and belt were kept in a drawer and whenever I had the opportunity I would sneak it into the bathroom and enjoy the feeling of the plastic. Unfortunately, my sister stopped wearing the plastic mac in favour of a new nylon mac (I have always hated nylon macs, blaming them for the disappearance of plastic macs in the early 1960's). Not long after she stopped wearing it my father burnt it on the garden bonfire; such a sad day !

Plastic rainhats were very useful for slipping down the front of one's shorts to obtain that lovely feeling of plastic against bare skin.

My favorite is a soft, translucent and shiny Pvc raincoat. My favorite being purple in color. I had one, don't have it anymore but plan to buy one again.

Most definitely, it would be my Guy Cotten Armor trousers. They are smooth and shiny , slimmer fitting compared to most rain bibs and just overall make me feel great when I am wearing them.

Your wife would really involve others in play?Nylon macs wrote: October 25th, 2022, 4:26 pm Shame you not in Devon. Maybe could make your dream come true if I talked to my wife nicely.

My favourite was the semi transparent rain hats with the tiny white polka dots, loved when I would see others wearing them on wet days.
