Like to learn more about behavior in different country

Post by Gerlid »

Hi again! Some more thoughts and questions about habits in different countries. Don’t know of I’m correct, but as I understand most of the membrers are from UK. But this is ofcourse about all countries represented on the forum.

Up here in the far north, the rainwear season is almost over. Ok, November can be quite rainy in southern parts of the country but were I live we are down below 0 deg celsius.
So most people are putting their rainwear away and start using their down filled or polyester padded nylon jackets.
It’s really nice to see all more or less shiny jackets out on the streets now, and if it’s snowmixed rain the turns very shiny. Easy to understand why I like both rainwear and nylon down jackets😊. They are so shiny and soft.

So I just wonder: How is it where you live? Do you also change from rainwear to nylon winter jackets at this time of the year? How do you dress during the cold season?

Here in Germany in a more dry area it depends on the weather (well, where doesn't...). We had extraordinary warm temps until early October, now it's somewhere between 10 and 18°C in the afternoon depending on current weather situation. This week was very wet, made walks in long Stutterheim raincoats every day and enjoyed every minute. On dry days I have light puffers and puffer vests. When temps go down to 0° and below I change to my warm winter puffers. But the last days I saw many people, mostly females, wearing surprisingly warm looking puffers. So nearly every weather situation can be properly used for wearing something I really love, raincoats and capes and my winter puffers. I prefer all shiny ones.
timeless fashion is the best fashion - classic "rubberized" raincoats are timeless

Here in the UK we have been battered by Autumn storms and have had very heavy rain, so more than normal we have seen more and more rainwear around. I think this year the PU fake rubber jackets are in abundance on men and women, they seem to be a real fashion choice and stutterheim and rains are actually quite popular!

KWAY seem to be popular with younger ‘on trend’ folks and the odd older style nylon waterproof jackets are seen as well.

Have also seen a few shiny vinyl / PVC puffer jackets being warn in the rain as its also quite chilly!

On the whole i think this autumn we have definitely seen alot more rainwear being worn than previous years and long may it continue!
Lets get swishy!
