It's all about confidence

Post by mason »

Today, I took the opportunity to enjoy one of my rare days off with a visit to eclectic and bohemian Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, not far from the Melbourne CBD.

It was a very, very cold and wet day so I took the opportunity to wear my long, and shiny yellow FarmerRain raincoat and matching bibpants underneath, which I teamed with a matching pair of rainboots. It wasn't rainy, but I still wore it anyway (it had only just stopped raining when I arrived).

Whilst on my way out of my favourite bookshop, a late middle-age gent and his wife stopped me to say how much he liked my raincoat. We ended up chatting for a few minutes. He wanted to know where I bought it, so I showed him the logo and told him to look for them online. A few minutes later, I noticed a cute Asian girl walking in my direction so I smiled at her and she gave me a very warm smile.

It's really all about projecting confidence, and everyone picks up on that.

You're right. It works to a certain degree. But if your outfit is to much off, i.e. not appropriate, it won't work so well. One needs to use common sense.

I would say the same, for years I was too self conscious to wear a long shiny mac out in public, but about 4 years ago I started to wear one in public, no-one seems to take much notice if it is raining.
