Mustering up the courage to wear rainwear in public.
Re: Mustering up the courage to wear rainwear in public.
Went out three times in the rain yesterday (twice to local parks and late in the evening around my local area) wearing my cotton backed yellow PVC thigh length raincoat, black PU over trousers and wellies. Spoke to several people whilst in the parks including a young lady in a pink PU raincoat in the morning. We agreed how sensible our shiny rainwear was and walked together, talking, for 5 or 10 minutes

Get that rainwear on and out you go.
Don't be worried about other people's opinions as they mean nothing.
Lots of admirers will compliment you on your walk

That is a fabulous outfit...love to bump into you !! xxHuntermacg wrote: July 22nd, 2023, 2:06 pm Dear all. Who cares what people think. It’s pouring down in Surrey and I fancy some fresh air. I’ve just put my super shiny black pvc Benetton mackintosh on that I brought in the selfridges sale a couple of years ago (£150 down to £75, thus I brought the red one too!!) and just added my flat thigh high black pvc boots (my green wellies just don’t go with the Mac) along with my black pvc bucket hat and my black pvc gloves in my pocket too as I just love being fully pvc’d up!! Do I care??? No it’s pouring down and I’ll keep dry. Have to admit, dressed up like I’m feeling rather horny. Would make my day if I bumped into someone like you Sarah pvc or one of you other members on here to have a chat, walk together and maybe some mackintosh fun together….

With the weather so changeable at the moment I have worm my PVC raincoat to the shops. I am the only one. Everyone else dresses as if it is a normal hot August day in England and I do get funny looks if it happens to be one of those moments that the sun is poking it’s head out. But as soon as it clouds over no funny looks.

A city with lots of train and bus options still works well for rainwear and wellies and glad to be living near one. Wet train stations and waiting outside for trains help keep rainwear needs happen.
Rural outdoor work helps too.
The folks that hop in a car within a garage attached to the house and drive to a workplace with garage has unfortunately cut down on hood rainwear usage.
