This was Marsh Farm country Park Essex U.K.
Where these photos were taken was on a concrete slipway but to the sides of it yes there was mud as it is a tidal river.

Very nice, looks alot like Langstone harbour where I go quite often

Never been down there but it looks good on Google earth!
