Helly Hansen 'Nusfjord'

Post by Saltmarsh_Drifter »

For most of my life I've been a total wellies person, but in recent years my interest has expanded to general rainwear and protective wear thanks to forums like this. In my collection I'm pleased to have two exciting Helly Hansen 'Nusfjord' jackets and a bib...

Thanks! The black wellies are Cebo, the gloss yellow are Hunter and the waders are Hunter 'Coarsefisher'.

Beautiful pictures, I think I have come across your profile on Flickr at some point and the pics of your yellow Nusfjord really got me interested in Helly Hansen (that model and color). Am I right that the Nusfjord is not being made anymore nowadays? I think i read that somewhere and when i check webshops i only see the "Stavanger" in orange that looks a bit similar but which is not yellow and not shiny. The shine of the Nusfjord is just mesmerizing.

Do you have any tips and tricks for making pics the way you do? The light is beautiful and it really brings out the best in the gear.

i always find it frustrating when the old rainwear which is the nice shine gets replaced. i think the guy cotten is the same way. rukkas have long since been discontinued.

Thanks for the compliments 8-)

Yes, the Nusfjord range had already been discontinued when I found some items available on a workwear site here in the UK. Very large sizes are probably still available from such sites, but the gear is notoriously oversized anyway. I usually take medium but I should have bought a size smaller.

For the lighting in the photographs, I just have the ceiling light plus a LED torch off at the side. In some of the photos I've posted here I'm sitting in front of my patio door so lots of nice natural light.
