PVC isn't finished, it's in China!

Post by RainyDee »

As most members of the forum know by now, I like to do my fetish shopping in China these days, and while I was having a look around I came across these really nice looking PVC coverall suits, for some strange reason, PVC seems to make the ideal "anti-bee" protective clothing! I could think of a much better use for these... ;)

2.5kg of PVC, the blue suit is USD$27.77 and the dark camo one is USD$31.07, various sizes (max 185cm)

Look a bit OTT for beekeeping but lots of fun for other things I could think of... ;)

There is a thread on the forum somewhere called "Chinese delights" where I've detailed the process for buying from the Taobao website, I can't remember which heading I put it under though, it should come up if you search the forum for it.

Here are the links for the 2 bee suits:

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1853 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=201 ... id=&pm_id=

and here are a few more interesting items in my shopping cart waiting to be bought!

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=2370 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=2290 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=2567 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1355 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1836 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1884 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1817 ... 317209.0.0

and these were the contents of my latest parcel that arrived a couple of days ago

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1518 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1274 ... 317209.0.0
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1909 ... 317209.0.0

Remember rhat the exchange rate is roughly 9 Yuan to 1 GBPound, it's the shipping that's the killer, roughly GBP£12 per kilo, and watch out for customs charges too, my last pacel fell foul of those, I was $80 ish for the goodies, $190 for shipping and the I got stung GBP£59.90 import duties, apparently the threshold for importing a parcel marked as a gift has gone down from GBP£40 to GBP£35, I won't get caught out with that again!

I've managed to find the thread where I went through the buying process, it's a bit long winded, but definitely worth it!

You're kidding?!? Is it really that low?

In Australia, our duty-free threshold is $1,000 before you have to worry about paying GST or taxes on anything you import. You beauty!!

However, most of our larger retailers have been bleating about it for ages (they say it's costing them sales here), but the Government is refusing to budge a single inch regarding the issue so far.
