How Difficult do you find it…

Post by Cherie »

..to get out of your favourite rainwear after you got into it? On an emotional level I mean as in you put on your raincoat, love it, and just really never want to tak it off again.

I don't find it too difficult to get out of it, after I have spent a rainy day in it I find that my mind is focused on whatever I am doing next, and this was the case decades ago when the urge to put on rainwear was even stronger than it is now. It has always been the case with me that the urge to put on some shiny rainwear and go out in the rain tends to build up over time, especially if I have not been out in it for a while. It's a bit like that now, where I am very busy at the moment. I am hoping to get out in it next week since there is rain forecast.

I have worn my PVC and Plastic Mackintosh in bed to sleep in , but can be difficult to take of at first due to sweat, not forgetting it can be cold, but a good wash under the shower to clean myself and my Mackintosh freshly cleans myself and my Mackintosh.

I have these thoughts as well, I get dressed up in my favourite raincoat and endeavour to stay in it all day, some time's it happens and sometimes not, I really love wearing a raincoat and would wear one all day every day given the chance.

Taking off rainwear for me is always a difficult thing to do. Somewhere in my being I just want to wear it for days but the sweat levels eventually make my body call it a day with water sloshing around inside my baselayer. Once you crack the zip the cold air and the sweat somehow makes it feel a little uncomfortable and thereafter easy to take off.

What is your base layer normally and how long do you try to keep on your outfit, is it normally many layers you wear

Baselayer for me is always a non breathable sailing drysuit with latex feet, gloves and attached hood to catch the sweat. No drips from sleeves or ankles. I add layers over this according to how hot I want to feel. I can keep it on for as long as I do not need to have a pee. Sometimes only a couple of hours or sometimes half the night.
