'Tatort' (Episode 222 'Blutspur' from 1989) - long-running German TV series. Michaela Wolko wears a long dazzling gold PU mac.
Timings: 40'-30" to 44'-42" and 1 hour 04'-17" to 1 hour 05'-49". There's also a glimpse of a prostitute wearing a shiny red PVC mac at circa 39'-36" as the cops drive by in their car.

I hope you find more macs like this in your sightings, it's really nice.
Wonderful RB. Much appreciated. Really enjoyed seeing this gold mac. It made a welcome change to be able to linger on said subject matter. I would have liked to have lingered on the prostitute in the red mac also but she was obviously inconsequential to the drama.

Yeah Beth, I hope so too - it's a real cracker isn't it?

"I would have liked to have lingered on the prostitute in the red mac also....."
If I'd been driving the car I'd have turned round at the next roundabout!
Having been to Paris in the early 1960's, it was a great disappointment that the contemporary "Maigret" series on BBC didn't feature many shiny black macs as there were certainly plenty to be seen on the streets in those days, especially around Montmartre. I can only recall seeing one in an episode featuring two young women called Hortense and Suzy, one of whom (I can't remember which) wore a lovely such mac in a few scenes. I don't recall any in the later Rowan Atkinson series.
Beside the fashion these old Schimanski Tatort crime movies are ass kicking - the Horst Schimanski character (played by Götz George) is a vulgar rude guy from the streets, not a clean office cop like all the Tatort inspectors before... and so these movies are far away from today's political correctness mania.
The first Schimanski Tatort ep. from 1981 "Duisburg Ruhrort" feat. a scene with a mid-aged woman wearing a grey Klepper Touring mac (unfortunately without hood).
timeless fashion is the best fashion - classic "rubberized" raincoats are timeless
