Outdoor work in rainwear

Post by Gerlid »

Have been doing a lot of outdoor work in our garden and in the forrest around our summer house.
First a couple of sunny days but it turned into rainy days, and I just loved it.

Two days with an almost constant soft rain with some more heavy showers and I could dress for this. Nobody could have second thoughts about the way I was dressed, ok they didn’t know that wore my rainwear on my bare skin. My favorite cloathes for garden work is:

My two layers nylon rainwear, shell made of a bit thicker nylon and lining made of very soft nylon, and wellis. Spent many hours dressed this way in the rain and love to work in the rain.

What is your favorite outfit for garden work, car washing, dog walks , etc?

Btw, it was also exciting to meet and talk with our neighbours, all dressed in rainwear shiny from the rain. The house 2: nd from us is owned by 2 sisters, women I have known since we were kids. They were so lovely in their rainwear, shining from the rain. Now I’m looking forward to our workday in the end of October. We all meet in our community and work for a day in our common areas. May be a lot of rainwear on then.

I also love to wear one of my PVC raincoats when I work outdoors. I have several, long macs, capes, or a set of hooded jackets and pants that are always shiny. What saddens me is that no one in my circle shares the same passion. So I live my passion in solitude!

You're lucky to see people wearing shiny raincoats! Here in Normandy (FRANCE), no one wears a long raincoat, except me! I feel a bit lonely! 🙄😔

I often wear one of my nylon raincoats if I have to do something outside - for example in the garden. I use the raincoat as a kind of smock. A really nice feeling.
