Rukka CH with a nice long women's raincoat

Ever wondered why the rukka.ch site (the Swiss daughter) has different jackets than the Finnish main brand? Just read their history on their site, it was founded by Swiss people who started to design their own collection under the Rukka brand name (but they feature a different logo).

Well, looking at their new collection I found three nice new things along their women's coats and jackets. Three raincoats in the modern PU coating in different lengths. One in hip length, one butt length and a new one, the "Wolkenbruch" (Wolkenbruch is German for cloudburst/heaviest possible downpour) coat, in knee length or even more (depending on the body size of the lady inside). For men only one jacket about half butt length I'd say (in Germany there are tons of PU coated coats from brands like Schmuddelwedda available in that size). But that long "Wolkenbruch" coat is really nice and amazing to see such length making its way back to (unfortunately only women's) fashion.

What makes it disappointing to me is that again nobody cares about men's legs - aren't we worth to keep our legs better protected as well (without the need for special rainpants)? A long coat is great when you have to go to work on rainy days, just wear a nice long coat and after arriving at work you just take off the coat.

Additionaly I'd like to mention that rukka.ch only ships to Swiss adresses... the second disappointing thing. Luckily I have some coats from Farmerrain and Stutterheim (and even a very long SBR mac, and some capes). 😋

i wish they went back to the classic pvc material or at least find a way to replicate its texture where it can still follow the regulations.

The Swiss "Rukka" company is only allowed to use the brand name but has nothing to do with the Finnish motherhouse. Yes the opal Stuttis and Farmerrains are closest to the classic 1970s Rukkas today but their fabric is thicker (which doesn't mean to be a bad thing, normally thicker = more durable).

They only feat. modern PU coated jackets up to parka length, nothing really exciting.

Mernini coats are well designed, the material and manufacturing high quality and flexible and moderately priced between Farmerrain and Stutterheim. A good alternative to Farmerrain with its very heavy and stiff material and Stutterheim with moon prices.

Nice long coats, I remember their Insta profile... they are very actice in promoting with nice pics. Unfortunately these are all designed for women - they forget men as so often. 😢

It seems you haven't touched/worn the new Retro 2.0 coat - the material is MUCH softer and feels like a completely new coat. I have both versions, old and new.

i like the long opal stutterheim mosebacke raincoats most, they feel most glossy, and heavy, its what i like.
boggles my mind stutterheim put out all the opal again except the mosebacke long opal, they said it was not getting sold enough last time.
wierd becouse every woman i talked to who has it, has loved it a lot. and got many compliments wearing it.

the opal and farmerrain materials though are not the same. they are either more stiff or not the same sticky rubbery material.
