'Coronation Street' (March 1989). 3 scenes where Sally Webster (played by Sally Dynevor) wears her shiny black PVC mac. There isn't too much of Sally on the Forum (remember Beth put up a scene from a 1986 episode a few years back) but can't remember much else.

Timings: 31'-39" to 33'-20", 42'-15" to 43'-34" and 49'-25" to 49'-58".

Really enjoyable to see again. You know how you have memories of seeing such things 'live' but I had forgotten how good her mac looked. She wears it well and it was wonderful to re-visit these scenes. Thank you.

That one is "very eighties" looking with its padded shoulders.
I once owned a grey shiny vinyl double-breasted blazer with pads like that. It was also from the late eighties.

Yes indeed - very much an '80s look. Anita Dobson ('Ange' in 'Eastenders') used to wear one around the same time although hers was a little longer. You'll no doubt remember those episodes!

Seeing her in that pvc mac made sure I watched the episodes intently after that point.

Actually - and I'm going on memory here - the best years for seeing Sally in the mac were from 1986 to 1988 - not so much after that sadly.

Love it. She looked great in that.

Corrie has a good record for actresses in plastic macs. Candice Stowe played by Nikki Sanderson used to wear a lovely black PVC raincoat.

There's something vry sexy about an older woman like Audrey in a black PVC raincoat.

Cheers Chris - glad you liked the post. Oh yes, Audrey!! A favourite of mine, along with Rita and Bet. I also had a bit of a thing for Alma and Raquel - would love to have seen Raquel (Sarah Lancashire) in a plastic/PVC mac - understatement!
