Have you ever wished for a different fetish?

Have you ever found yourself wondering if life might have been easier if you had a different fetish, or no fetish at all? In my early years having moved from home, with a degree of freedom to explore shopping for things I like, I discovered that 90% of shops and catalogues (no internet in those days) were geared to latex. It did make me wonder if I should try to acquire that fetish, but although the feeling of rubber is quite exquisite, it just is not the same. Being of advanced years now, I accept that I am what I am, but when younger I did a lot of trying to get rid of my desires. Sometimes after gratifying myself I would feel such guilt that I would dispose of the item involved, only then to try to recover it soon after as the guilt faded and the desires reappeared.

Thanks for the interesting post just now. All your posts on here are a great read. I love my fetish for plastic macs and pants .had a love of baby pants from very young age when I found a pile of plastic pants in the kitchen belonging to my younger sister. It progressed to plastic macs later on. Mum bought a see thu plastic mac from Woolworths back in the day,it was embarrassing and at the same time wonderful. So I'm glad I have a fetish and would not change a thing. I also went through the feeling guilty and disposal following, only to obtain more plastic when I could.
I have spent a lot of time and money on my fetish over the years and I wouldn't change it at all .
So yes love my plastic and my fetish, it makes my day to be different.

Sometimes I do, but sometimes I don’t. As WilmaRukka said, raincoats are innocent, nobody would suspect it as a fetish, unless you had 500 of them, and even if you did, people may view it as a collection.

I too have often wondered if I might have been better if I did not have this attraction to shiny rainwear, but it is a part of me and I can't really change that. For me it goes hand in hand with the attraction to women, but I am glad that although this fetish might seem odd to most other people it does not mean that I have any sort of bad intent towards women, I would not want a woman to do anything that she found unpleasant.

a raincoat can be own outside even if its not raining.
a raincoat hanging inside is nothing wierd.
a prob might occur when visitors see the big closet full with a dozen or more raincoats, just the number of them makes them curious what that is all about :geek:

That reminds me of an awkward moment many years ago. We had a big family get together at home ,and unknown to myself my partners daughter for some reason had a look in her wardrobe and came across 2 see thu plastic macs hung up at the back of her regular clothes she then came down stairs and questions were asked as to why plastic macs were in the wardrobe, well her mum was well embarrassed and I had to come up with an answer. She would wear them for me even though she did not get a kick out of it ,it did improve our sex life for a while mind you . !!!!!!!

Love my rainwear fetish, i also have a fetish for adult baby plastic panties although not being a baby, just the plastic panties. Would i change it? No, its just me, would i ‘choose’ different fetishes? I don’t think you can just choose, i guess they just happen.

Totally agree about the pants. I’m sitting here right now in a pair even though it is way too hot, I just can’t stop myself!

Absolutely not! Even though the rainwear fetish community is small (after all, we are a subcategory of PVC/Latex/Rubber), it is a community that punches well above its own weight and can go incognito. On a rainy or cloudy day nobody will suspect the man or woman passing by them wearing an article of rainwear to be a fetishist. Can the same be said of a latex or rubber fetishist who must don full bodysuits and other tailor made clothing to satisfy their kink? I think not. I really couldn't imagine the type of person I would be without the experiences of donning heavy rainwear and willingly subjecting myself to the heaviest downpours and nastiest storms that overtake others with a sense of dread and panic. They desperately figure out how not to get drenched while I'm thinking of how great of a storm it will be and how it will compare to other storms I have been in.

I urge everyone to take a gander at some of the fetishes listed on FetLife to get a firsthand experience of the strange and bizarre "interests" that are out there.
