Recent PVC raincoat sighting on TV

On BBC4 on Sunday 19th May at 10.15pm there was a programme, Metroland, featuring a discussion between the poets Philip Larkin and John Betjeman, the Poet Laureate back in the 1960s/70s in which Betjeman was wearing an unfastened shiny black PVC raincoat throughout. It was a great sighting. As far as I remember it was not actually raining so he was probably wearing it, as indeed i did myself during this period, "just in case".
