Problem with the site security

Post by JellyMan »

Looks like the SSL certificate for the site needs renewing as it is giving an error before loading (assuming your browser allows you to “continue to website anyway”)

Safari says the certificate expired at the end of August. In terms of security it just means that the arbitrary time that is allocated to the validity of the certificate has passed, but it is still encrypting the site traffic. It’s just that some browsers block all sites that have a certificate problem, and others try to persuade you not to visit, but still let you in if you know how.

I have contacted the hosting provided about this.

In the meanwhile you can safely ignore the warning as rainwearcentral is hosted on a minimal clean install of PHPBB3 with no extensions or plug-ins.

I've had the same problem logging in over the last few days and was unable to overide the warning, however, this morning, Sunday, it seems to be all back up and running as it should.
Thanks to whoever sorted it.

Yep all looks good to me now. Thankfully we can browse in security once again!

I've also had this message in Firefox. Now the site is working fine.
