'Juliet-Bravo' (Series 2 - Episode 2 from 1981) - Patsy Rowlands wearing a long purple semi-transparent plastic mac.

'Juliet-Bravo' (Series 2 - Episode 2 from 1981). The series ran from 1980 to 1985. Patsy Rowlands (playing the part of Muriel Davis) wearing a long purple semi-transparent plastic mac. Nice mac so typical of the time. She can be seen in it between 11'-33" to 15'-37". Enjoy!

Oh my God those were the golden days when plastic macs like these were seen all the time almost regardless of weather as they were very much the fashion then. They were available in such lovely range of pastel colors, a soft to the touch, and had a nice large hood. Most head round pockets set in the side and of course drawstring hood tighteners.
I also loved a combination with white boots; I couldn’t really detect what height heels they had but I so remember being excited at that combination of white boots and long Mac. Sadly today concert of a long raincoat means that it reaches the knees rather than the thighs whereas in the 80s they stretched almost down to the ankles. Oh yes a golden. Indeed

Also, if you look to the left of Arlene's front hall as she answers the door, there is a plastic looking grey or clear long mac hanging on the hook.

Cheers Priscilla! Yes, they really were the golden days - women everywhere in their lovely plastic and PVC macs. I used to love to hear them swishing and rippling as they walked by - that was a real turn on for me. As you say, the plastic macs were really long too - LOVELY!

Thanks for that Evad - very eagle-eyed indeed. So there is - I missed that! It looks like one of those silvery PVC/PU macs that were very popular at that time.
Pity we never get to see Arlene wearing it!

Cheers - and yes, you're not wrong about the raincoat. I love macs like that! Wish women still wore them like they did back then in the 80s.
