Shiny nylon coat

The shown Raincoat is a AGU from the Netherlands.
They are nylon and could be quite shiny, this one is as well.

I have multiples of these and they do really on the outside feel nylon, it's not entirely smooth like PVC.
(The inside is butter-smooth rubber)
What might put you on the wrong foot is that these coats are very old, 1980ties.
maybe it changes the look of the material.

Nylon is actually a thread that is woven. The finer the thread the smoother and shinier the surface. I used to have some nylon shorts that I tried to get more shiny by heating the surface (since it will melt) - the result was not good and didn’t have the desired effect,I ended up with hard lumps on the surface, but I was just a test.
