Removing smells from rainwear

Post by staggy »

I have recently bought a lovely 2 piece pvc rain suit from a rainwear fan on eBay, unfortunately they forgot to tell me they smoke 60 a day while wearing it!😡 it absolutely stinks but I’d like to try and save it. Tried washing with soapy water but made no difference, any tips?

Put on a hanger
Place in shower
rub dertergent into item
Let soak
about 15 minutes later blast item with hotish water
Let drip dry
May have to repeat!

You could try water and bicarbonate of soda, but test it on a small area first in case it alters the fabric. I have sometimes used this to stop my training shoes from smelling if they have got wet.

Just leave it out for a couple of months and the stench will go away. I had the same issue with a seller on Ebay.
