If it worries you, just enter any random 07xxx phone number - they won't be trying to call you.

I cannot see a way round that.
Unless you log in with Facebook or Twitter.
I did not have to do that but that was a while back when I registered.

It's not that it worries me as such, I just don't like handing it out to companies. My supposition is that they want it for purposes of texting a confirmation code, but I'll give your suggestion a try. Thanks for the tip.

I think it's more likely they will send you a message to confirm your email address, rather than confirm your mobile number, give it a go - nothng to lose.

Okay, I've taken Imgur at their word that a) they'll store my mobile number securely and b) they won't use it for any other purpose (they did send a verification text), I've transferred hosting to there. Bit more of a faff than Imgbox, but seemingly without the unfortunate shortcomings.

Of course, my pictures still won't pass muster with the Photography Police, but more people here seem to like them than don't, so I can live with that

Your husband doesn't need to be a photographer, you can take cracking shots on mobile phones these days that take amazing shots with no editing needed, only saying.

I have reading the recent comments with interest and I cannot see any issues with links to porn sites. I just admire your photos for what they are i.e. Yourself dressed with your gorgeous shiny raincoats on. How is that porn?
I especially like the white one, does the collar fasten up around your neck, if so I would love to see a picture.
Anyway keep posting your photos of you in your raincoats for all our enjoyment.
