I don"t know if this subject has arisen t before.."Is a mac just for rainy days

As a lover of rainwear preferrably rainwear designed for ladies for many years it has puzzled me why so many think a mac for rainy days or possibility of rain

The snide remarks .."Expecting rain??"..I walk on...undeterred......I have one favourite type of mac,,,nylon.....Too wear it naked..too rub myself whilst in it..and the great thing is it is designed for ladies......I go out in a nice ladies mac..no one even noticed but I dare say so many lovers of macs are wanting to go out in a mac but seem to be afraid what others might say

A mac is for anytime I can get away with it! I won't go out in sunshine unless I know there won't be anyone around, but have worn my cagoule once with nothing on underneath whilst walking the dog on a hot sunny day. I carried a t-shirt in the pocket and popped it on before returning to an area where I might get seen. Never had any snide coments, only positive or neutral and only ever from women. I wear nylon out, but never had the guts to wear anything in May favourite material plastic.

I've just come back from a walk in the rain in my knee length PS Group Pvc raincoat with my Honour pvc jeans underneath

Wear mine as a wind breaker, everyday wear when not sunny and especially when looking like rain

I have a traditional long below the knee plastic mac, but when i wear it even in the rain i always feel like people are looking at me expecting me to flash lol. They were such a common site when i was younger bring back c and a shops.

I like to wear mine when just lounging around the house. I sleep in them all the time. I am sitting on my bed playing with my phone right now with my knee length raincoat closly nuzzled to my bare skin.

I had an hour to myself this morning wearing 2 classic Peter storm cagoules,Peter storm raintrousers and hunter wellies just pottering around the house. I wear a cagoule on a daily basis and always carry extra in my rucksack......

I am the same as you, always have a peter storm or regatta with me ‘in case’ often have one packed into it’s pouch in my hand bag or day sack.

For those with a rainwear fetish, this question isn't really a valid one. If I was to add to the discourse, I would say no. Rainwear to the fetishist has nothing to do with rainy days. Yes, seeing rain is an emotional trigger which reminds one there be may lots of rainwear worn, that day. When I talk of 'fetish', I don't mean someone who has chosen to like rainwear sometime in their late teens, or adulthood; or someone who has chosen it because its a little saucy and a bit risque. I mean someone, such as myself, who has been drawn to rainwear from a very early age, and much as I have tried to analyse it, I have no understanding of it. The rainwear fetishist obsesses, all day and every day, about seeing someone in rainwear, contemplating its design, desiring its aroma and, depending on the fabric, hearing its special sound. The opportunity to be enveloped in one ones favorite mackintosh, and to share that experience with a like-minded other, is a constant thought.
So for me, a mack is not necessarily for rainy days.

Well it is nobody's business is it? We can chose to take any kind of raingear with us any time we like. I used to be concerned with what people might think but:

1) Nowadays, I don't care what people think if I am wearing a cagoule or have one with me. It is my choice and my business. It is not offensive in any way.

2) I don't actually think anybody notices unless they, themselves have an interest in raingear. We must remember that our 'raingear radar' is always on, whereas other don't think twice.
