I like a nylon hood on a coat both up and down , when the hood is up its nice and if with a fur trim on a woman it looks really pretty , it also looks so inviting to touch the smooth fabric . When the hood is down i like it to look flat and neet like its been ironed flat .

I love fur trimmed hoods hence my epithet. I love shiny macs or anoraks with a thick fur hood, it not only feels nice to wear but looks great as well, male or female. Well that my totally biased opinion anyway. Ive got loads! Winters coming hooooorahhh.

For most rubber-lined mackintoshes, a hood is a very great success because ladies do get wet hair and do not appreciate it.

My main "thing" in regard to hoods on mackintoshes is to bury my face in them to sniff & kiss the interior & later to spunk into them.

“Hood, I can’t live, with or without you, yeeahh, with or without you, ooooh.” … I’m guessing the “(you)” in the topic title referred to that most fine U2 song! Anyway, for me I can take or leave a hood. If it is raining it is nice to have for protection, especially if it is so heavy you know the rain would be running down your neck and into your eyes without it. I do quite like the look of a hood on a girl wearing a jelly jacket - up or down. They also have their uses in the bedroom, especially on a Mac worn back to front - but in that case they cause more dampness than prevent if you know what I mean!

Of course the (you) is referred to U2 . I think it wasn t too hard to guess,
and to leave your comment here, didn t take too much effort, right ?

It's always been and always will be a shiny sou'wester or shiny bucket hat for me. I just think they look far more stylish and fun. And remind me of being a kid again in my first ever shiny mac.
They get so many compliments when worn with a shiny PVC mac.
