Does anyone know if the rubber surface on an SBR mackintosh or the rubber lining on a single texture mackintosh can be damaged by contact with alcohol based hand sanitizer products . I ask because earlier this morning as I entered my local beauty salon to have my nails clipped and filed
( Parkinsons disease , hand tremour , and cutting my own nails getting too close to finger-tip amputation ) I was asked to hold my hands out to receive a squirt of hand sanitizer .I asked the young lady to wait while I took my mackintosh off , and then accepted the squirt to clean my hands . Now , was this
-a sensible thing to do , or not necessary ?

Hand sanitizer should not damage SBR unless you actually get a lot on the material as it is alcholol not oil based. The hand sanitizer evaporates.
