An episode of the british t.v. series of years ago. In the first scene a middle aged prostitute in a long black shiny mac is told to move on by the police. Later at 36.45 she is arrested and put in the back of a van, and she appears in a few more scenes afterwards.

Loved all the old stuff, eyes always glued to tele when sighting girls or guys in their plastic/oilskin macks and wellingtons. Wish they would bring it all back

Nice one - might be worth checking out other old clips of 'The Bill' to see if there are any more hidden gems available. Thanks a lot for uploading this clip - very much appreciated!

Something of a stereotype perhaps but the mac is still a good combination of the attractive and practical. Seem to recall occasional mackintosh sightings in similar situations in Z Cars.

That black pvc.mac, very light material and very full and long, was very popular in the late 80’s early 90’s among young business women as part of the power dressing of the time, to go with big hair and strong shoulders. You can also see this sort of Mac in contemporary Coronation Street, and indeed Angie, landlady of the Old Vic in Eastenders, wore a similar black pvc mac. Great time.

Yes, I well remember seeing Audrey Roberts in quite a few episodes of Coronation Street in the early 90s wearing a long shiny black pvc mackintosh. Bet Lynch too had a superb leopard print pvc mackintosh in the late 80s/early 90s - superb mac! Rita Fairclough was another one in Coronation Street who wore a long bronze coloured pvc mac - very squeeky with good rustling.
