I was far too self conscious to wear a long shiny mac out in public, but now I wear it out when it is raining. I sometimes get a remark like "expecting rain" or something like that, but so far no one has said anything derogatory. I have worn it up to church a few times and I have had favourable remarks from a couple of women, one woman even borrowed it for a few minutes while she had to return home. Our self conscious fears are mostly in our heads.Highshine5 wrote: August 28th, 2025, 10:37 pm It never ceases to amaze me that some people are fearful of humiliation because they are fearful of wearing something that the manufacturers have designed for the POPULOUS to wear because it is designed to be worn OUT!!!!! The name RAINCOAT is a clue! Just put it on, put its hood up and enjoy. 99.9% of the population dont give a damn about what you, or anybody else for that matter, are wearing! Shine on, you crazy diamonds.........!
