quite agree with you Mason, such comments are somewhat unneccessary.

I wore my pvc raincoat to the supermarket this morning. It was purely to keep my clothing dry although it was nice to go out in the rain wearing it.

Perhaps our friend would like to know whether I got overly horny in the fruit and veg aisle, lol

Yes, I could not agree more! So many things to so many people. That might be a topic -"How do you feel in your rainwear/" - keeping it clean, of course. Me? two elements - protected, warm, and somewhat stimulated too.

Hi Jenni
It's nice to hear from a lady who enjoys wearing rainwear. I very rarely see a woman in a pvc or plastic mac. Are you in the UK?

Today my wife and I went for a walk down a country lane in the pouring rain. I was wearing my black PVC trenchcoat with matching hat, hunter boots and gloves and my wife was wearing her red Rainmac PVC coat with the hood up and boots.

We did not see anybody else and it was a most enjoyable walk.

Thnak you all for your recent comments following WB's post.......I hope he's got the message.!!
It's been a lovely day here for walking in the rain....................pouring down since early morning !!
An old school came for the weekend accompanied by her new black labrador puppy . As the dog needed some excercise this morning ,we decided to go for a wet weather walk. I wore my SBR mac with souwester and my friend borrowed my black satin hooded rubber lined mac, and wellies. My husband wore his double texture mac so we were well protected .!! It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning and we ended up in our local pub, wearing our very wet heavy macs, but, quite dry and warm inside, for some well deserved refreshment.

I helped out with a beach clean yesterday, and wore my heavy blue one-piece suit, boots and gloves. It turned out sunny, and I started to get hot. The old lady running the beach clean said it was a sensible outfit for the job, and told me to keep it on until we'd finished, and also to wear it next time we do a beach clean in June :o .

[quote="Jenni"]Sounds like you had a terrific time in the snow Evad, but weren't you hot wearing all your gear ? .........no wonder you had to lie down to cool off !!.

Not at all, Jenni... You see, it was just above freezing, and all I was wearing under my raingear was a footed fleece sleeper. I had no jacket, t-shirt or sweater on. Not even socks. I was warm, but not hot- while I was working, that is. I stopped to rest for a half hour, and got pretty cold! 5 minutes of work and I was back to toasty warm.

Had it been colder- say 0 f / -17c, I would have had more layers on under the suit. Fleece is an amazing fabric... Made from PET plastic soda bottles, it wicks the sweat from your body- So, when I came back indoors, the inside of my rainsuit was dripping, and the outside of my sleeper was wet as well- and against my skin, it was somewhat damp, but warm.

During the spring and fall, if I am going for a walk in the rain and wear a complete rainsuit, I will have little but underwear on. And in the summer, if it warrants the rainsuit (very heavy rain) I will wear one of my light vinyl suits that is a size larger than my normal , and does not have elastic at the wrists and leg so the air will circulate a bit better. I rarely wear a rainsuit in the summer, though. Summer raingear is just a big baggy thin vinyl jacket- with a t-shirt, shorts and sandals.

Last weekend I bought a dark green quilted waterproof boilersuit(Blue Castle brand)
I've worn it a few times around the house but this evening it is tipping down with rain so I donned it and my wellies and walked down to the village shop and back.
It makes a lovely sound(amplified with the hood up)and is VERY warm.
I'm looking forward to summer!

Today my wife and I went for a walk at our local National Tust property both wearing our black PVC trenchcoats and boots. Sadly I did not see anybody similarly dressed despite it raining and only one person in a long coat. Most people were just wearing anoraks of some sort and trainers so they must have got quite wet

I managed to get out of the office for an hour earlier and had a bit of time to spare.
So I went to a small village by the estuary and thought that I'd go for a walk. So I put on my green PVC chest waders, and a body warmer over the top to keep me warm, and picked up my sandwiches and walked across the playing field to a bench that was on the edge of the estuary. I sat there for a while to eat lunch, and mostly admired my waders and how "suitable" they were for a nice walk down the estuary.
Then I went down to the water and sloshed through it. At times I was in up to my thighs - what a great feeling.
As I carried on walking, I passed a couple of ladies who were out for an afternoon walk. It was a lovely feeling to be properly dressed for the environment. I just wish I'd had my camera with me as I could have got some great shots.

Cheers
