HI Yes I will have to slip on my delicious riding mackintosh . Listening as I pick it up to that wonderful crisp crackling sound as it comes to life , enjoying its luring weight and rubber scent as I enter my body into its security , strapping in buttoning up belting up ready to admire the way it looks pleats hangs sounds ready to venture out .

I got to admit those rubber riding macs do have a certain appeal with all that crackling and rubbery aroma. My wife had one but refrained from wearing due to the weight. We gave it away in the end :(

I had a wonderful full length, coachman's style, double textured mac back in the day from the old Biba store in Kensington High Street. They sold a range in that material, often with contrasting inner layer, to both sexes. I think macs in such fabrics are still available today, if at eye-watering prices, but they appear now to be marketed as "bonded".

A mac should be worn whenever i am told, in fact for 50 years i have not been able to get excited without a mac. Even better when partner wears as well.

Sometimes I wear it indoors as just comfort wear. It's just nice. My girlfriend loves snuggling up to me when I wear mine indoors as we watch TV.

Other times I'll wear one during a crisp fall day and enjoy a drink outside. Watching the sunset in rubber is the best. Very rarely I'll go on a walk with it on during a fall day. Just love the contrast of the shiny rubber and the falling leaves

Yes, for my part I am only into 60' nylon raincoats and wearing them in all kinds of weather. In my opinion, a nylon raincoat can always be worn regardless of the weather, for example open without buttoning it if it is sunny and good weather or buttoned up if it is windy. Precisely because it is a light coat whereas heavier PVC or rubber raincoats are a bit "overkill" in sunny and good weather.
On the other hand, I don't think it is appropriate to wear a long raincoat if you are wearing short pants. Bare male legs do not fit a long raincoat. Only female legs. ;-)
I have never experienced anyone commenting or looking at me because I am wearing my nylon raincoat even though I am very aware of whether anyone is looking. As a raincoat fetishist you are always aware of whether anyone is looking at you but my experience is that most people do not notice it.

I think we have to distinguish a "mac" from a "mac".... means there are different kind of macs. On a sunny day with no cloud in the sky I never would wear a specific raincoat - but I also have two fashion "macs" made of shiny PU and without hood which are great just as a fashion piece.

i get so happy when i see people wear the stutterheim raincoats when its not raining, those raincoats are actualy good for just fashion or when its a bit windy aswell. they are also good for when its dirty, gardening work or stable work and such, i seen them used for that, i use them all the time. even at winter, wearing warm clothes under or summer when its sun with a lot less under ^^
