Not rainwear, but I was in the supermarket today when I saw a lady in a lovely pair of PVC trousers. She was I’d say a size 16 (UK), very pretty and probably middle aged. The trousers were black and shiny but the surprising thing was that the legs were very wide. When she stood still it looked like. Long skirt, but when she moved I could see them for what they were. I had to go and get something from near her (no I didn’t but you know what I mean), her trousers made the most delightful swishy sound as she moved.

Now imagine her wearing these trousers together with an elegant and well-fitting and rustling shiny vinyl trenchcoat or a shiny vinyl biker jacket....

I own about two dozens of wide-leg jeans and trousers since I am a huge fan. Apart one of them they are all female items, because most of men's wide-leg options are ugly.
Most of them are denim but I also have several pairs in imitation leather, matte PU coated fabric and shiny vinyl.
And yes, the shiny vinyl ones rustle in a different way than tighter shapes in vinyl do.4
Some of the vinyl ones are darted, offering generous room for "fumbling".
Tiping this actually triggered the urge to do the latter....

People's reactions are also quite interesting when I walk in public wide-legged. ;) If someone is interested I may also write about that. From the comfort point of view I can only recommend wearing wide-leg.
