I have a slightly shiny lady's jacket in a 44. I bought that one for next to nothing. It is made from PVC coated cotton like all Rukka coats and jackets until some time in the eighties.

my favorites are reversibles. still looking to find the one that my sister gave me nearly 30 years ago but in a much larger size. i also remember it had this sort of distinct plastic smell. the closest i have to its design might be the I.I.I brands i got but they have a matte lining and a semi shiny finish.

When I got my first Rukka I was surprised how thin the fabric is... compared to other raingear made of pvc coated cotton or nylons. But it seems they made really good quality as they can survive decades with good care. it's a shame they are so rare and mostly expensive on Ebay. People living in Sweden (or even Norway and Denmark) have the advantage of much bigger chances to find some in second hand stores or on flea markets. Here it would be more than winning the lottery, it's easier to find 20 yr old original used Donald Trump socks than old shiny Rukka raincoats.

so that must be the same one i have heard about before. it sounds like the holy grail of shiny unlined raincoats.

Another brand with very similar coats is Børmax from Denmark... they could be THE alternative to Rukkas...

And those moments like that Danish tv show with the reporter wearing a vintage blue Børmax raincoat :P And a pic collage of an Ebay offer.

i have 2 red bormaxes. one that is like the shiny blue and the other that has a white zipper but a very tight hood. it also has a very smooth finish.
