I find that the best way is to put it on and get in the shower with a bar of soap. Not only does it clean the coats and boots but it's fun too. Even more fun if someone else will get in the shower and soap me down! Any volunteers?

I sometimes enjoy getting muddy in my rainwear, I am so covered in mud that I cannot go back to my car in such a state. The only way to get clean again is to jump in the river afterwards. Getting soaked enhances the feel of the fabric against my skin.

That sounds like a fantastic idea, providing reciprocated with some mutual fun of course

My ex fiance put me in charge of cleaning her vinyl raincoats! I would use a soft cloth with mild detergent, then she had me shine them with Armor All. That was back in the 70s. As far as my wife's stuff it is hardly ever used

I always wash my raincoats in the bath with a scrubbing brush. The screeching sound I always find very satisfying

I was always told by my mother that there was only 1 way to wash my nylon pakamac.... lightly soaped water, hand wash then hand rinse, and then Drip dry on a hangar.

My mother always used to wash raincoats by hand in the bath using a soft scrubbing brush. This would also include nylon or plastic macs. Because my bedroom was quite near to the bathroom I would always hear the noise they used to make while being washed, wishibg that I could have a go myself. The nylon and plastic ones would always make the most noise which was a schreeching or screaming sound. My wife still washes macs this way and I always try to be near the bathroom so that I can have a listen. It is such a satisfying noise.
