"From Chinese sources there's quite a variety." I've gotten these from various Chinese sellers via AliExpress or Temu over the last couple of years. So it's far from just one haul. Afaik the black top's no longer available. The blue top and checked panty are very recent and still available afaik.That panty is from Haian; they also have a bikini-cut panty in that same print. Have you bought any TPU (PVC) that says it is “Polyester”. I struggle to see how you can get a superbly glass clear material out of polyester, unless the image is a lie (AI) and the product looks nothing like it.

I've noticed that their AI writeups, more and more, are claiming that pvc or tpu items are made from polyester. I don't pay much attention to that, but trust my eyes. If something's transparent or even translucent, it has nothing to do with polyester. And other than one item from one seller, things they claim to be tpu are indeed tpu, and things that claim to be pvc are pvc. This item:

was claimed to be tpu but is pvc. And not just any pvc, but the type that doesn't slide against itself and is noisy in spite of being soft. I always wear a t-shirt under it, because i'm not sure I could ever get it off if I wore it by itself. And it has a back zipper that doesn't show in their blurbs.

When you say PVC that doesn’t slide against itself, do you meant the type that has a rubbery feel? I have a sauna suit made of that sort of vinyl and getting out of it is half the fun. It has to be pulled over the head to get it off, but easy to get trapped inside for a while which is lovely!

Nah, I like it smooth, soft, and quiet. Panties that slide easily on the sheets and move with my body when I turn over in bed. I don't much care for "rubbery", I guess.

Modern rainwear materials indeed don’t have that same feel anymore that they used to have in the ’80s and ’90s. A good example is the well-known yellow PVC raincoats with cotton lining. When I was a kid, these felt much nicer and smoother than the versions you can buy at hardware stores nowadays.

That’s why I also regularly check Vinted to see if I can find vintage versions. I’ve managed to buy a few by now that feel just as wonderfully smooth as the ones I remember from my childhood. I don’t know what they do differently nowadays, but modern versions just don’t feel nearly as smooth and comfortable as they did back in the ’80s.
