etsy rainwear AI images

whenever i looking for rainwear on etsy i cannot believe how many sellers are using AI images instead of showing real images of the rainwear. this is can be dishonest especially if i don't know what i would be buying in the end.

While I am normally able to enjoy AI images, this is the one sector they should absolutely stay away from it!

If there is anything I want to see when I want to buy something it is what it looks like in real-life. Not AI, not with professional lighting, not polished up with other software.

That is one thing the main shopping site in my country does very well nowadays: once you bought something they give out (discount) points if you review the item and post pictures of the item you got. So the advertisement on the site gives the perfect version but then you scroll down to the reviews and see the pictures previous customers took from the item when they received them (bad lighting, non-professional photos, etc).

Etsy and other sites are at the mercy of sellers who often seem to want to overdescribe an item so you have no idea what they are selling. I appreciate they want to get as many looks as possible with keywords but what's the point when you are wasting people's time or worse, trying to con them.

the other problem with etsy is not just the AI but also fake or deceitful information. for example, a seller's listing says it ships from the US or UK when in reality it is coming from china or india where it is a phishing account.
