I know it has been posted before, but let’s hear about when you were caught doing something you shouldn’t with rainwear, and I don’t necessarily mean just enjoying yourself in supposed private.
I had hardly any shiny rainwear growing up so loved it when I got a shiny blue nylon coat. It was not quilted but had a stuffing and drab lining. I “accidentally” ripped the lining and over time all the stuffing happened to find its way out. Eventually the lining started to come away until I was left with an unlined nylon jacket. Initially my mother never noticed but at some point she must have spotted it and I was in a lot of trouble, but she didn’t confiscate it. When the coat was new it had a stiffness and was very nice to the touch, but as it aged it felt less like nylon. As far as I can remember that was the only shiny rainwear I ever had of my own growing up.
