Time Wasters

Post by northernbloke »

One thing that really infuriates me on this forum is when you get a DM from someone appearing to want to chat to you about their or your specific interest. You then reply to them, and thats the last you hear from them ! Why oh why do some people spend time initiating interest in you, and then just dont want to keep that dialogue up ?

happends to me too. i asume they dont find what they where seeking, or they are just writing a DM on impulse and forget about it later.

also honestly i am chocked about how hard it is to find someone to talk to about long shiny classic raincoats.

i am very respectful and friendly and i can articulate myself very good and i have a big collection of raincoats i am happy to show.

but still.. always i get ghosted.
I Love Long Classic Raincoats. Feel free to DM me and talk about raincoats. I have about 20 long classic raincoats in my collection sofar.

I've had this a few times, but perhaps I've said or asked something that people do not like. If people don't reply then I don't send any more messages. I don't want to pester members with unwanted messages.

Some interesting replies so far ! I think its true that some people act on impulse, then wish they hadnt, when they send a DM. But I also think that if what they are hoping for with your side of the fetish isnt EXACTLY matching theirs, then they arent prepared to put the effort in to find out more. For me its strictly WOMEN in PVC rain macs with hoods, that I find a turn on, and I know there are others out there who like this. But getting them to open up about experiences etc is nigh on impossible !

For my own part I am o.k. to chat with other members, I don't expect that other members likes are going to be exactly the same as mine. One thing I have found is that after a while there is only so much you can discuss without repeating myself.

That is the issue that also becomes obvious on forums: you can only discuss the same topics so many times before it gets boring.

In my view the private messages are therefore only for 1:1 contact to, for example, meet up. All other things can better be discussed "in public" with as many people as possible chiming in to keep the topic going.

Please bear in mind when sending a PM or contacting someone, if like me having little or no experience & more importantly limited typing skills, please try not to start, slowly at first & has happened in my experience, "getting down to business" almost at the start, for me personally it was slightly upsetting at the time. Not everyone has the opportunity to wear/dress in their favourite clothing all the time. I am reasonably happy to chat/PM with other folks I am also happy to say "I am not happy where this chat is heading" politely of course.
