It shouldn’t bother you as it’s just an item of clothing and that’s it to the very majority of people just like a leather jacket (which some have a fetish for) so the shyness etc only exists in yourself as you know your wearing for your fetish, Try take on the attitude that you are genuinely just wearing it for it’s real purpose “ to keep you dry” when wearing it say in a shop try wearing it casual like undone hood down etc to lessen the shyness feeling, it does work… what I’m trying to say is if you had a brolly you wouldn’t keep it up above your head in the shop would you! So wear your cagoule with confidence and relax ,,,,like I say after all all it is is a wet weather garment isn’t it …..

If someone looks at me, I keep eye contact. 99% will look away. You are showing confidence in what you are doing and wearing. They are the submissive one, and maybe, maybe, even slightly jealous?
I was thinking about that this week when on the train with standing room only. I was wearing my polyurethane coated thick jacket somewhat even faux leather like (matte not glossy shiny) and kept intermittently seemingly looked at by a person seated beside. Either he thought it was strange or yes, could have been jealous and possibly appreciated the look of such a proper rain jacket. Hopefully the individual was just jealous.

I wore my shiny blue poly cagoule top from ASOS whilst out today; no one even gave me a second look. It wasn't rainy but it was very cold & windy though.

Like I said, most of this is all in your mind.

Hi Again,
Everybody is correct, it is my head/mind, the comment from Mac the lad & Mason sums it up "so the shyness etc only exists in yourself as you know your wearing for your fetish," I tend to get caught up in what other people think and shy away from what I actually want to achieve, which in this case is to wear a pvc cagoule in public, I mean it is olive green, will not stand out in crowd. So to sum up I need to get a grip and go with the flow

I have worn my fluro pink one runners point cagoule on many occasions in public and no one has ever given me a second look, other than one person who asked where I bought it as they loved the look of the colour :)
Lets get swishy!

I totally agree. Like Mason, I bought the Asos shiny pu cagoule a couple of years ago. I wear it regularly. Rain and shine. To date, only complimentary looks of approval, otherwise ignored. Dont waste your life worrying, no bothering, what other people think. These days they have other bigger worries to consider, like paying their heating bills. What you are wearing is of little consequence!!!!

I've worn glass clear, glass clear colured, and shiny black PVC raincoats both outdoors and indoors, when weather is appropriate. I've had nothing but compliments. On one rainy day, in the middle of the dystopian social distancing rigmarole of 2021, I was in the long queue outside the supermarket. It was raining moderately but steadily. Everyone else had umbrellas or matt yellow Goretex-type coats, but I was wearing my shiny black PVC mac. One woman approached and asked: "Excuse me, where did you get your shiny black mac from? It's so shiny!". On another occasion, I was inside Sainsbury's wearing my glass clear green mac (obviously, the weather outside was appropriate). A woman in the queue smiled and remarked: "I like your 'big mac'!". On another occasion, a shop worker serving me casually remarked: "Is it raining heavily outside?"

I roll-up tightly a glass clear PVC plastic rainmac, stuff it in my rucksack, and take it with me on my regular 10 mile long commute on bicycle, or when I walk the dogs. If the skies suddenly open up and a torrential shower ensues, I simply stop cycling, get my mac out of my rucksack, unroll it, put it on and continue my cycle journey. I love that 'rustling' noise the glass clear mac makes when it is unrolled! It could be a Monsoon-like downpour, but I'd be loving every bit of it, as the mac keeps me bone-dry. No fellow cyclists or dog walkers have batted an eyelid at my appropriate choice of rainwear. I get the usual smiles and "Hello" or "Morning!" greetings from fellow cyclists, dog walkers and joggers.
