Tell me about this outfit. You look amazing. Is the uniform a replica of the one you wore as a child?

Thanks for your kind comment. It is similar to my uniform as a child but not in those colours.

My uniform was very similar to this:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/miker_uk/26227672528 and https://www.flickr.com/photos/miker_uk/39390104214. The green gaberdine in https://www.flickr.com/photos/miker_uk/42649905514 was worn by girls.

I did wear short trousers until I was 16 (most boys were in long trousers by around 12-13 years old) and I wore a gaberdine raincoat until I left school at 18 although it was not compulsory after the 5th form.

I was on the train going to work yesterday and to make a long story short, a women commented to me that she missed the styles of the 50-60s. People just do not dress with any style anymore. Mike, I think we need to show off our collection of nostalgic clothing as often as we can. Some dress up only privately and that is ok. I love to dress up and walk outside.

You're right about the lack of style; such a pity. I like your gold mackintosh especially. I can only see two photos, though; I just get spinning symbol if I try to click right to look for any others. Have you thought about Flickr for your photos. They do a free account still up to 1000 photos.

Had wonderful time yesterday afternoon walking for over two hours in the pouring rain with my soul mate appropriately dressed in our mackintoshes and rubber boots.........mine a red rubberlined satin tightly belted with hood and he in his SBR and sou'wester. It was very humid and we soon became hot and sweaty as we rustled along .

Thank you, Miss Rachel. Your blue PVC mackintosh look wonderful. I especially like the photo of our in your cape at Christmas, especially the one i font of the Christmas tree - delightful.
