Re: Plastic pants

Henridysuitist - I looked at the Euroflex bloomers when I was in the USA, the only thing that put me off them was that the elastics weren't covered. As far as quietness, I don't wear Euroflexes if I'm going to be in company, I stick with Haian (preferred) or Temu ones. The Gary normal plastic ones I ...

Re: Rain skirts

I have a couple I got from Temu, beware though, they have only one waist size just variable length. The waist size is fine if you have less than a 30" waist, over that they get too tight (unless you like them that way) even though they are advertised as stretching up to 45". I just make a small cut ...

Re: Plastic pants

The noisiest plastic pants I have used are Gary Euroflex, a bit expensive as they have to be shipped from the USA or Germany BUT I have some that are 10 years old and are still going strong, they don't crack or harden, can be machine washed and don't seem to be affected by bodily fluids or lube. I ...

Re: Repairs to PVC

I have had some success with an iron and greaseproof paper either side of the plastic to stop anything sticking to it. A hot setting and a bit of trial and error about how long to leave it touching works albeit too long and it melts completely. It gives a permanent repair unlike plastic glue which ...

Re: Plastic bags

Ah memories! I started out in my early teens buying clear blue plastic laundry bags to put over my head and upper body and progressed to taping 2 or 3 together lengthwaysand slitting the bottom of two to get a long bag to get in to head first. Mind you I had a close call on one occasion when they ...

Re: Rainwear day

On rainy days recently I've been wearing a clear 'Jelly' coat that I bought from the Army and Navy store many years ago. It's still going strong. I bought my first clear blue plastic 'bomber jacket' in the mid 70's from a boutique, it was quite expensive, then short plastic jackets became very ...

Re: Plastic pants

My first plastics were XL Boots 'triplets' (they came in a pack of 3) nearly 60 years ago, as a teenager, I just about fitted in them but they were very tight on the legs. Lovely and smooth though and a very distinct plastic odour that stayed with me for years.

Re: Plastic pants

Agree PVCULIKE, cheap yes and obviously more affordable, but the materials change from order to order and the sizing is very variable and often not as advertised.

Re: 1980's glass clear raincoats/macs

I had my first clear blue 'bomber' jacket in the mid to late 70's bought from a womens boutique! and my wife and I had clear ones with a tie belt and grey trim from a high street store in the late 70's. You can still order from pvc-u-like.
