I well remember being told, "put your hood up", and how much I enjoyed the feeling - especially when I got a fur hooded snorkel parka. Sorry for the slight digression.

I have the Rosbras jacket and matching bib and brace for on the boat in bad weather, far superior than most other equivalent waterproofs. Not a problem to wear casually if desired and certainly hardwearing. I bought mine about 8 years ago and it is still in excellent condition.

At risk of being disciplined for going a bit "off topic", I also enjoyed what was probably a yearly visit to Woolworths to be kitted out with a plastic mackintosh. Other members may recall such shopping trips, and the thrill of trying on a new plastic mackintosh.

Some of the comments here bring back fantastic memories. C&A was another haven for mackintoshes, I well recall going there and admiring the extensive range they used to have in the Autumn. Unfortunately, C&A has long gone from our towns and cities.

If it has a hood it must be up and tightly fastened, in the current situation a mask should be worn as well. For me, anything other than a fully buttoned mackintosh is unacceptable.
