There we go, missing the point again. I'm wondering what the other things that you have been accused of amounted to?

"There we go" - goodie, where are we going and who make up the 'we'

"missing the point again" - totally, I wasn't even aware there was meant to be a point so if there was I did miss it

"I'm wondering what the other things that you have been accused of amounted to?" - thank you for you interest but they amounted to nothing because like "There we go" it means nothing its just a phrase

Lighten up, don’t take things so literally and take the chips off your shoulders they'll ruin your rainwear

Domino's comments are very interesting, and I've always wondered about the various Scottish spellings of names, and the explanation of the meanings of the Gaelic was fascinating, I've always spelt the name as Mackintosh in this context simply because I didn't know any better. Now I must tidy up my act! HOWEVER... it doesn't really alter the pronunciation and it's the sounds that turn me on, not the spelling, oddly enough....come to think of it, has anyone met anyone who is aroused by spelling? That's a fetish I certainly never heard of!

MrDoudy wrote: August 14th, 2020, 12:32 pm I like both words mac and mackintosh but rather like the extra associations the full word has for me of a sloshy, rubberised garment that announces its wearers approach by the rubbery noises it makes and the promise of a waft of that characteristic odour. Such an experience was commonplace in my younger days, alas less so now in this age of inadequately protective, too-short "showerproofs".
I couldnt agree more with Mr Doudy...the rubbery swish and odour certainly stirs the senses !

Oh so true, there was very little else about at one time but sadly times change, as do fashions.

Smooth and shiny wrote: September 17th, 2018, 10:36 am Mac or macintosh, the sound of either word gets my attention. But the real pleasure is wearing it
I quite agree.......the pleasure is most certainly in wearing a mac whether it be sbr, rubberlined , pvc or nylon

Mackintosh is divine and if I were your wife you would wear a Mackintiosh when I told you to.l would expect you to wear it correctly , buttoned and belted collar turned up and if you failed to meet my standard I would prevent you from wearing it.And that would be hell for you. Other people may call it what the wish but to me and many others it is a Mackintosh.
