Repairs to PVC

I was out in my black PVC mac last week and after a few hours I noticed a huge tear behind my shoulder about 450 m.m. long. I took it off straight away to avoid it getting worse. I thought my mac was beyond repair, but I've just managed to repair it with the soft glue from Bostick, and I am pleased with the result. The join is visible, but by cutting a strip about 15 m.m. wide and using that to bind the edges of the rip together I have made a strong repair. If any body else wants to use this glue the trick is to only glue a short length at a time and buy a bottle of acetone(nail varnish remover) to clean the nozzle of the glue tube and also the acetone is good for getting rid of any surplus glue from the repair.
