I would never buy a mac without an attached hood. Totally pointless. All macks should be as shiny as humanly possible, with a large attached hood. All wives/girlfriends/partners should also make sure hoods are worn up, at the slightest suggestion of inclement weather, or of course, because they want to humiliate you. Now Im going off to fantasize about living in that perfect world!

Don’t mind either way, it depends on the raincoat and style. If a hood fits the look then hood it is, if not then no hood. Simples! I appreciate the hood can be all important to some people though.

I love to wear a combination - layered raincoats with hoods, but finished with a multi-layered headscarf with a stiffened brim - projects like a rain hat, but secures the hoods in the windiest stormy conditions.
