I love the nylon raincoat and i have a few of them, I really like it when they turn from the matt looking raincoat to a very nice wet look from being out in a heavy rain period and also the nice russelly noise they make when being blown about in the wind.

I have tone honest, I am not keen on unlined nylon. Luckily lots of macs and jackets come lined with PVC, which I do very much enjoy. I like nylon in sports, like shorts and tracksuits(again with PVC lining where possible), but the smoother and shinier the nylon the better.

A cagoule was what I could get my hands on growing up and I think that mostly dictated my love for them.

But I love the rustle they make. Not many swishy sounds get better then that.
The pvc coating/proofing on the inside i prefer on my skin then standard pvc. Is generally more comfortable and I don't overheat as much as anything else so can be worn for much longer, I also find when I do get hot and sweaty I can stay in proofed nylon much longer then just pvc.
I like the way they crease, hang and the sheen as it moves.
Also easier to hide in plain sight, I can go out in nothing but nylon rainwear top to bottom in just about any weather in the uk and no one will bat an eye but the Shiny or heavy gear gets a fair few more looks and comments.
