Anyone tried DailyShoes wellies?

Post by Bill_P »

I've seen these on Amazon, glossy tall wellies in a rainbow of colors, they look like a knockoff of Hunters. They run up to a US womens 13, which they say is equal to a mens 11.5. Reviews are mixed, some say they had problems with the boots cracking, others complaining about being too narrow in the calf, and others complaining about the strong rubber smell. Anyone tried these who can attest to the quality? I checked with the company and the size 13 are backordered until February or March, so I have a little time before I take the plunge & try a pair.

I bought a couple of pairs of these. Build quality is generally poor; the sole separated from the uppers on one pair within a week, and severe cracking developed on the other pair a few weeks later. Not surprisingly, it turned out to be a spectacularly bad idea to take either pair anywhere near any form of moisture; you'd get better results wearing a pair of cotton socks outside in the rain.

Having said all of that, if the idea is to wear these strictly for indoor play, they're cheap, shiny and available in all sorts of colors. if the idea is to wear them as raingear or even as shoe-type things, you should just stuff your money into a shredder and get it over with.

Good to know. Considering they look identical to Hunters, and they're both made in China, I assumed they'd be of equal quality, but apparently they use lesser quality material. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you for your kind response!
That answers weather to buy or not!
Not it seems!
In my case they would be too wear outdoor in rain, mud etc. So not for purpose.

Thank you for the opinions. At the price DailyShoes are, it seems the thing to do is to spend just a small bit more and buy Kamik boots instead, specifically the Kamik Olivia. The Olivia looks like the tall hunters somewhat and might be a good alternative.

The only problem for me is, I'm a US men's size 12, and Dailyshoes are the only glossy wellies that come in my size - well, their women's 13 is a men's 11.5, but since most wellies run a little large they've close enough

I have not tried DailyShoes, but I did buy some Pipduck calf length lace up wellies on eBay before Christmas for £30 UK. These are black and high gloss. My wife says they are comfortable. They are made from synthetic rubber and smell slightly of car tyres. Pipduck is Australian, but the boots are made in China.
