What once in a lifetime opportunity have you guys fulfilled?
Mine has to be seeing the worlds largest steam locomotive ever built as it came through Texas. Union Pacific took a Bigboy locomotive from a display musuem and restored it then went a a countrywide tour to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the golden spike. Even at 15 feet away you can feel every once of power that big 650 ton beast has. It was truly an awesome experience. Thankyou Union Pacific for the experience.

Saw The Beatles perform live on stage-the noise, the people! (and, yes, some of the girls wet themselves)

If your talking Steam Engines I had the pleasure of being on the Flying Scotsman's footplate as it headed south over Berwick Viaduct on the East Coast Main Line. This would be around 1968 & I was 14 yo. - fantastic , unforgettable experience.

I assume you had a grin from ear to ear.

Oh yes, and for days after.
To access the footplate had to walk through the two corridor tenders, very dark , one light bulb and narrow .
The noise & the heat hit you when you arrived on the footplate

I've never been on a plane and I don't have wings, so no Flying Scotsman stories here...
