Yes, and what a lovely mac Rita's was. It used to make a lovely squeaky sound. You can hear the sound very well in the episode of 19 October 1990 (it is on You Tube) when Jenny puts her arm around her at the bar in the Rover's Return (at 11 mins 25 seconds in). Here is the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UqrWeZ ... &index=106

Yes, she looked so damned sexy in that lovely mac. The times I've thought about her "being on top" while wearing that mac....

Love the recollections about Harglenis and Mandy Marsh. Another maker of excellent PVC raincoats at that time was Jan Robert. They were kind enough to send me, on request, a large print of one of their best advertising pictures which for devilment I put in a frame and displayed in my office. It prompted at least one other woman working nearby to buy a similar mac. My secretary at the time was also much taken by it and I offered to arrange to get her one at a discount from a supplier I knew. But that was scuppered when her unreconstructed South East Londoner husband suggested that she could wear it "up King's Cross for a bit of business"
