A wonderfully Stormy Night Here in Green Bay Wisconsin USA.
Took my son to his first football game here to see the defending Super Bowl Champs.
The weather had said that we weren't going to get any kind of rain until late tonight(Saturday) into tomorrow(Sunday).
So I made the mistake of not bringing our raincoats with us.
Well about 8pm the rains began to come down in earnest accompanied by blowing winds and lighting.
They got everyone out of the stadium into the concourse.
We went in search of the pro shop and any type of rain gear we could find.
Well I found some real nice rain suits but they also carried a rather nice price tag of $320.00
So I finally found a sales lady and asked her if they had any ponchos for sale.
Normally I am not a poncho person I just like actual raincoats better.
So she pointed us in the right direction.
So found us two dark green with the Packers logo on the front and back pvc ponchos.
So those along with a Clay Matthews Banner for my son we took our 20.00 worth of purchases and off we went.
Back to our seats and the rain was still coming down.
The security would not let us back to our seats because of the "threat of lightning" which there wasn't any anymore just a torrential downpour.
I watched sadly as it rained in sheets and blew sideways on the storms winds.
Wishing I could be out there my poncho flapping in the storm.
Well it finally calmed down and we were allowed back to our seats.
Still rained pretty good and even though I like the poncho the only flaw i see in it was no drawstrings in either the waist or the hood.
My jeans copped a good soaking thanks to the poncho bunching up in the wind as i sat down.
But all in all a glorious night.
Here's hoping we get more nights like tonight..really ...really soon.....
